Our Vision
The First Foundation Story
Strength lies not only in the words we use, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. Established in 2024 as an outgrowth of an intensive relationship-development effort, The First Foundation set out to pave the way for a few things, first.
Our Vision is clear.
First we must:
1. Promote Healthy Relationships, First: This means educating, prevention, and peace-enablement.
2. Support Survivors, First.
3. Empower Women, First. While all genders experience domestic violence, women experience abuse at extremely disproportionate levels. This is globally true.
The First Foundation empowers women first. We support organizations who show a track record pf success in enabling women to lead their own life, free from the pain of abuse and filled with love that is caring and lasting.
In all we do, we are dedicated to creating a positive impact through collaborative efforts.
The First Foundation was born out of the belief that healthy relationships come first, and are the key to ending perpetual violence within partnerships, one relationship at a time.
Our Initiatives
Our three key efforts...
Building Capacity First
Our Org Capacity Building program is a catalyst for tangible and positive transformations. This strategic focus area at the First Foundation is instrumental in driving success for our grantees and partners. In essence, as part of our grantmaking program, the First Foundation selects one or more individual organizations to directly support, and help grow their work, so they can deepen and broaden the impact they're already making to prevent and end domestic violence.
Empowering through Education
Our Prevention First Education focuses on supporting organizations whose efforts to end domestic violence involve prevention programs.
Engaging Communities First
Through our Community First Outreach program, we provide a vital platform for those who need it most. This program currently prioritizes community needs of two target states: Washington State (Seattle metro) and New York (greater NY tri-state area). By supporting organizations who provide essential services to victims of abuse, we work towards preventing future DV situations. Join us in making a difference today.
